Need a Corn Stove?
Corn Stoves, which are stoves that heat the home with shelled dry corn, is the other business of Earth-in-Hand. This includes selling of the corn stoves, installing, servicing, and selling of corn fuel.
The Corn Stove business has been a business that John has dealt in for well over ten years. Corn stove manufacturers have varied from year to year. Currently, John sells Cornglo, Caneco, and Buckner Corn Stoves.

Tree Care for “The Avenue in Mist and Sun”

Don’t you just love a driveway that is lined with trees? I wonder who does all the tree work for these wonderful trees. I am certain that Chris, Earth-in-Hands top tree guy would love the opportunity to work on a line of trees such as these.
At one time I had the opportunity to work with Chris on an ancient line of sycamore trees in a neighborhood off of Freemansburg Ave. in Easton. Not willing to risk hurting the trees, Chris diligently pruned the trees using a system of ropes and ladders, but refused to use spikes to climb the trees, as climbing spikes could damage the bark and enable infestation, disease and rot.
Spikes would have enabled Chris to save time and money, but Chris would rather ensure the job is done right than harm one of these ancient trees. Thanks to Chris, the home is now encircled by about a dozen towering sycamores, that are much older than Chris, and will certainly be living and breathing for generations.

The PA Environmental Energy Expo is always a great event that involves lots of environmental education from a large variety of groups. The Festival is exactly that, so if you have the time, stop in or even come and camp out.

Update: Earth-in-Hand will not be participating in the Environmental Energy Expo. Although we enjoyed ourselves tremendously the last two years, this coming year, John and his Corn stoves will not be at the Expo.
